Washing machine drain odour

The washing machine drain stinks. What is the problem?

The washing machine drain emits a foul odour and creates a stench in the house. Especially when the weather changes, for example during sudden rainfall or a drop in temperature, the odour is often more noticeable. This phenomenon is similar to what happens when the drain stinks when the weather changes, as the conditions in the sewer change and can intensify unpleasant odours.

What is the cause?

All kinds of dirt and grease get into the washing machine drain. This builds up on the inside of the drain pipes. Soap residue from the detergent also settles. This is an ideal breeding ground for bad, odour-causing bacteria.  These bacteria will grow in the layer of dirt or, in other words, things will start to rot. And that can stink!

Is there a solution for a smelly washing machine drain?

We have a product in our range that has been specially developed to break down soap and grease residues: Roebic K67. This is a 100% organic and ecological product and is also used in professional laundries.

It contains a lot of good bacteria that feed on soap, grease and dirt. But in such a way that no odour or harmful gases are formed.

The good bacteria in the product work super fast. They break down the deposits and ensure that odours and dirt are removed.

Initial blockages are removed.

Roebic K67 is perfect for use in combination with a septic tank, cesspit or small wastewater treatment plant.

How do I use Roebic K67?

The application is simple and goes as follows:

  • Add the same amount of lukewarm water.
  • Pour it down the washing machine drain.
  • Repeat this four nights in a row.

The washing machine drain stinks. What is the problem?

The washing machine drain gives off a foul odour and creates a stench in the house. Especially when it rains or the weather is cold, you can smell it.

Similar deposits can also occur in other household drains, such as a blocked drain in the kitchen, where grease and food residue can build up and cause unpleasant odours and blockages. These deposits are a common problem and can be effectively removed with the right products and methods.
