Especially during dry and prolonged periods, rainwater storage can become malodorous and cause foul smells. This can be very unpleasant, but fortunately, there is a biologically sustainable solution.
This maintenance product consists of various bacteria that are formulated to accelerate the breakdown of organic impurities in the rain tank, preventing sludge, algae formation, and unpleasant odors.
How does Bio-Recup LQD work?
Bio-Recup LQD maintenance works because bacteria break down organic waste in the tank through aerobic decomposition, which does not release any odors. This way, the harmful bacteria are outcompeted. By breaking down the available nutrients, Bio-Recup LQD is highly effective in preventing and reducing algae and sludge formation, thus preventing and reducing odors that may occur during long and dry periods.
This product is 100% organic, safe for the environment, and your rainwater tank. It is not a biocide. This makes Bio-Recup LQD suitable for all types of rainwater storage tanks.
Does Bio-Recup LQD also work for the pipes?
If the odor is coming from the pipes, Bio-Recup LQD will require more time to work effectively. This is because oxygen is quickly depleted in the plumbing, which reduces its efficacy.
How do I use the Bio-Recup LQD?
The use of Bio-Recup LQD is straightforward. Refer to the diagram below for the correct dosage. Keep in mind that you should dose Bio-Recup LQD in spring or summer, which is also often the period when odors are most prevalent.
For rainwater harvesting systems and collection tanks:

Remark:
If you already suffer from severe odour problems, 1 bottle may not be enough and you may need to repeat the treatment after a few weeks, depending on the situation.
If the tank is closed for a longer period of time, it is possible that gases are present in the tank. Do you want to add Bio-Recup? Leave the well open at least one day beforehand to allow the gases to escape. Always make sure that there are two of you and that you wear protective equipment, such as a mouth mask.

Can I use Bio- Recup LQD the whole season?
Yes, Bio-Recup LQD can be used throughout the season. However, we recommend using this product in the spring and/or summer, as it works best with the outside temperature.
On average, how long does it take before I notice effects from using Bio Recup LQD?
Our products contain bacteria that need time to reach their maximum effectiveness. On average, it will take 2-3 weeks to reach maximum strength. Generally, most of our customers notice some effect in terms of odour reduction within the first week.
Does Bio Recup LQD also tackle discolouration in rainwater?
Most discolouration in rainwater will come from humic acids from leaf litter and other organic debris. Our bacteria can break that down, but there will be a minimal colour difference. For decolourisation, you might consider a carbon filter after the tank.
Can Bio- Recup LQD solve the thick layer of sludge in my tank?
Yes, Bio-Recup LQD can in many cases dissolve the thick layer of dirt in your tank if it consists of organic material.
Can I use the water from my tank for gardening if I have used Bio-Recup LQD?
Yes, Bio-Recup LQD is an environmentally friendly organic product that is not harmful to your plants or garden. You can therefore use this product safely.
Can I use the water from my tank as drinking water for my animals?
Our product is not harmful or toxic, but we do not recommend its use as drinking water, even for animals.
What can affect the effect of Bio-Recup LQD?
Beware of products with chlorine! They can seriously disrupt the biology in the tank and the functioning of this product.
Can Bio-Recup packaging be recycled?
Yes, the packaging is recyclable. We have chosen to provide more and more products with a new eco-friendly sustainable packaging. Therefore the bottle may differ from the original image above. Our new bottles are made of 100% recycled plastic. Of course, the content and functioning of the product is the same as in an original packaging.
To protect the products from damage we use – if necessary – wrapping paper in our packages. The packing paper is made of 100% recycled paper.
